Dynamic Caching GPU & Display Timing on M3 Pro
The M3 family introduced Apple's Dynamic Caching GPU architecture with hardware-accelerated ray tracing.
On the 14-inch MacBook Pro (A2992), high GPU memory bandwidth spikes can occasionally cause brief timing desynchronizations with the display controller:
- The screen flickers to black for 0.5 to 2 seconds under high memory pressure.
- Console logs report
[IOPlatformDevice] DisplayPipe: Underflow error.
