The A2251 & A2289 Intel Architecture
In mid-2020, right before the Apple Silicon transition, Apple released the Intel 13-inch MacBook Pro models:
- A2289: 2 Thunderbolt ports, single cooling fan.
- A2251: 4 Thunderbolt ports, dual cooling fans, 10th-Gen Intel Core CPU.
Both models incorporate the Apple T2 chip. When a display blackout strikes these machines, performing an SMC reset or DFU firmware revival via Apple Configurator 2 is the mandatory first diagnostic step before assuming physical panel failure.
